The blonde Drea de Matteo, 37, would join ABC drama ‘Desperate Housewives’ as the series returns with its sixth season on September 27, 2009. It has been confirmed by network publicist Aime Wolfe. Though the network representative didn’t reveal ample details about her role, it’s affirmed that Drea de Matteo would be seen portraying an Italian matriarch whose husband is a landscape designer. She would be the mama to a son. Selection of her husband and son is not done yet and the internal sources are saying that her son would strike a spark with one of the neighborhood beauties.
Recently, it was reported that Drea and her longtime boyfriend country singer Shooter Jennings got engaged. The couple has an 18 month old daughter named Alabama. The lady is best known for her appearance as Adriana La Cerva on the popular HBO network series ‘The Sopranos’. She has also won an Emmy Award for her appearance on ‘The Sopranos’. Adriana was the long time girlfriend and later fiancé of Christopher Moltisanti, one of the leading characters of the series. On Desperate Housewives, she has been cast as the regular character. Her brilliant acting skills led her to won several awards for her performance on ‘The Sopranos’.
