Beginning of the first season of Desperate Housewives was marked by the suicide of Mary Alice Young and from then onwards, we watched the whole show from Mary’s viewpoint. Her suicide reveals a puzzle in the form of her family- which includes her husband Paul, son Zach, and a mysterious toy chest. From beyond her grave, Mary takes the audiences through the lives of her friends, which include Lynette, Susan, Gabrielle and Bree, as well as her neighbors. Mary lets us know the secrets which the residents of the Wisteria Lane tried to keep hidden behind the closed doors.
