Season 5
Fifth season of Desperate Housewives started airing on September 28, 2008 and the season opener was entitled ‘You’re Gonna Love Tomorrow’. Series took a jump as long as five years and began with how that time gap affected the lives of all housewives. In the beginning of the season, we saw that it had been five years since the day Katherine shot her husband. The season opener showed what’s going in everyone’s life. Susan was seen trying to hide her new relationship with a new man. On the other hand, Gabby was struggling with motherhood. We saw Bree ready to publish her own cookbook, being a business partner.
Lynette’s twins were leading some illegal activities so the lady was busy to sort out her issues. And, we saw that Edie had returned with a mysterious new husband. Next episode was entitled ‘We’re So Happy You’re So Happy’. In this episode, Lynette came to know about a lovable feature of her son Peter. And, the chances were that Susan’s new man would be introduced. It was hard for Bree to balance marriage and a career. Edie realized how unfriendly could be the neighbors on Wisteria lane. On the other hand, Mrs. McCluskey approached Katherine to help her uncover more about Dave, their new neighbor. Then we watched the episode entitled ‘Kids Ain’t Like Everybody Else’. In this episode, we met Bree’s estranged daughter as she came back to Wisteria Lane. The altercation between their kids made Gaby and Susan to get embroiled in a war of words. Lynette came to know about the garbage band Tom and Dave had formed. Katherine and Mrs. McCluskey, keen to explore more about Dave, invited Edie to lunch so that more about Dave could be figured out. Next to it was the episode entitled ‘Back in Business’. As Bree’s new cookbook was touching the heights of popularity, it made the women of Wisteria Lane jealous. Lynette was longing for her good days as an ad-exec so joined Bree’s marketing plan. Mike started feeling he didn’t have any place in his son’s life after he saw MJ’s drawing of a family portrait. Gaby was devising the plan to have more sex with Carlos. Next episode of season was entitled ‘Mirror, Mirror’. In this episode, flashbacks let us saw what happened in the past five years. Then came the episode entitled ‘There’s Always a Woman’. Susan was interested to have a casual relationship when Jackson was serious to discuss their future. And, it led to their break up. Two days after this accident, Susan faced a naked woman in Jackson’s apartment. Bree tried to settle the things between Orson’s college roommate and Katherine. One of the Scavo twins was holding a secret. Next was the episode entitled ‘What More Do I Need’. Susan came to know about Jackson’s actual passion. On the other hand, Mrs. McCluskey’s sister threw a light on a disturbing fact about Dave. It was also the time for Lynette and Tom to discover the upsetting truth about their son, Porter. Katherine’s secret was revealed.
Next to it was the episode entitled ‘City on Fire’. Susan was visited by Julie and her new 40 something boyfriend. Lynette came to know that Anne Schilling was pregnant with Porter’s baby. A fire erupted at the club where everyone was gathered to see the annual ‘Battle of the Bands”. Dave murdered Dr. Heller during the performance of Cold Splash and it was also Dave who set the fire. Then was the episode entitled ‘Me and My Town’. Injuries got during the fire might be beneficial for Gaby and Carlos but everyone was not so lucky. Lynette and Tom were determined to protect their son. Susan came to know that the man she loved had a relationship with Katherine so decided to let him go. Next episode was entitled ‘A Vision’s Just a Vision’. Lynette tried to go all lengths to protect Porter. Carlos realized Gaby’s sacrifices after his sight is restored. Bree tried to make Andrew understand that she had accepted him. Susan and Mike pondered over their relationship. Dave discovered that things were going out of his hands. Then came the episode entitled ‘Home is the Place’. Bree confronted Alex’s mother. Carlos was encouraged by Gabrielle to take a six figure job. Jackson was away and Susan turned to Lee for company. Preston was caught by Lynette while talking over the phone to Porter. Next to it was the episode entitled ‘Connect! Connect!’. Susan and Edie got themselves locked in a basement and had to spend time together as a result. Gabrielle’s kids were going out of her control and she approached Carlos for help. Next to it was the episode entitled ‘The Best Thing That Ever Could Have Happened’. Eli Scruggs passed away and everyone in Wisteria Lane started realizing how much he affected their lives. Gaby remembered the days when he helped her to make new friends after she moved in. Lynette recalled the incident when he came to help her. Susan recounted the days when she used his shoulder to cry. Edie recalled their very special friendship. In ‘Mama Spent Money When She Had None’ Mike brought new pearls for Katherine much to Susan’s envy. After Mike said that it’s not possible for him to pay for MJ’s private school, Susan stole Katherine’s pearls. Lee discovered some upsetting facts about Dave and the breakthrough resulted in a huge fight between Tom and Dave. Gabrielle and Edie decided to attend a fitness camp as both had intentions to become fit and sexy. Then came the episode entitled ‘In a World Where the Kings Are Employers in which Susan, very serious about the future and studies of her son, started doing a job. It was really very hard for her to consent after Mike left MJ in Katherine’s care. Gaby came to know about a dirty secret of Carlos’ boss. Orson and Bree had a war of words after he came to know that she had given Andrew a raise.
