Eva Longoria Parker, aka Eva Jacqueline Longoria Parker, is an American actress who has received nomination for Golden Globe and has won Screen Actors Guild Award. Bringing her to limelight was her appearance on the CBS soap opera ‘The Young and the Restless’.
She’s born to Mexican American parents, Enrique Longoria Jr. and Ella Eva Mireles. She has three siblings namely Elizabeth Judina, Emily Jeannette, and Esmeralda Josephin. Initially, her family was not a well off because of the financial difficulties and she had a hard time during her childhood. She appeared on ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’ in 2006 and she shared the hardship she faced during her teenage with viewers.
In her teenage, she dreamed of becoming a fashion model. When she sent her photographs to a modeling agency, they rejected her saying ‘she is too long’. Eva enrolled Marvin P. Baker Middle School and she next joined Roy Miller High School. She got Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology at Texas A&M University Kingsville. In 1998, she was crowned Miss Corpus Christi. After quitting college, she participated in a talent contest. Her participation led her to Los Angeles where was signed by a theatrical agent.
Eva Longoria Parker made her TV acting debut in 2000 by guest appearing in an episode of ‘Beverly Hills, 90210′. Her next appearance was also as a guest star on ‘General Hospital’. Setting her on the top of the success was her role on popular American soap opera ‘The Young and the Restless’ as psychotic Isabella Brana Williams. In 2003, People en Español listed her as one of the Most Beautiful People of the year. After ‘The Young and the Restless’, Eva joined Dick Wolf revival of ‘Dragnet’. Following it was her appearance on two ill-fated productions - ‘Señorita Justice’, a poorly received direct-to-video film, and a television film titled ‘The Dead Will Tell’.
On the very popular ABC drama ‘Desperate Housewives’, she portrayed the role of adulteress Gabrielle Solis. She was next seen, as an actress and co-producer, on a poorly received direct-to-video movie entitled ‘Carlita’s Secret’. In 2005, she received a nomination for Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series - Musical or Comedy. She also received the ALMA Award for same role and was named the entertainer of the year.
In 2006, Eva Longoria Parker made her appearance on ‘The Sentinel’ along with Michael Douglas and Kiefer Sutherland. In the same year, she portrayed Sylvia in Harsh Times.
The lady secured #1 on Maxim’s Hottest Female Stars in 2005 and 06, consecutively. She was placed on #9 in the magazine’s Hot 100 of 2007 list. Longoria was featured on a 75-by-110-foot vinyl mesh replica of Maxim’s January 2005 cover set in the Las Vegas desert, in an honor of magazine’s 100th issue.
Her future projects include a show about an American pop singer in which she’s supposed to portray Mariah Carey.
In January 2007, she became the first face of Bebe Sport. She has modeling contracts for L’Oreal and Hanes, New York & Co. She’s also a part of Microsoft’s “I’m A PC” ad campaign.
She has been married to Tyler Christopher, General Hospital star from 2002 to 04. Later, in 2006, she got engaged to Spurs point guard Tony Parker and they got married on July 7, 2007.
Eva Longoria Parker owns a restaurant in Los Angeles named Beso. In 2006, she purchased a house in Los Angeles’ Hollywood Dell for $3.6 million. She also has a house in the Velano Country Club in Chino Hills, California.
