Felicity Huffman, an Academy Award nominated American actress, is best known for her role on the ABC hit show ‘Desperate Housewives’. She received a Golden Globe Award and an Academy Award nomination for her role on independent movie ‘Transamerica’.
She took birth in Bedford, New York. Her mother was named Grace Valle, an actress and her father Moore Peters Huffman is a banker. When she was just one year old, her parents got divorced so she was raised by her mother. She has seven siblings, six sisters and a brother, named Moore. Felicity attended The Putney School and graduated from Interlochen Arts Academy. She next joined New York University. In 1988, she graduated from the Tisch School of the Arts and earned the degree of Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drama. Currently, she’s a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
She first appeared on a dramedy ‘Sports Night’ as Dana Whitaker. Among her guest appearances are ‘Frasier’, ‘The X Files’, ‘The West Wing’, and ‘Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip’. In 2001, she appeared in the made for TV movie ‘Snap Decision’ along with Mare Winningham. She’s the co-author of ‘A Practical Handbook for the Boyfriend’, a self help book. She’s only one actress who has been a part of three television series created by Aaron Sorkin.
Felicity Huffman is married to William H. Macy, an actor. She has two daughters with her, namely Sofia Grace and Georgia Grace. The couple is seen together on several TV shows, films and stage shows. Recently, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced to dedicate a star to Huffman and her husband, William H. Macy, on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, next year.
Some years ago, Huffman revealed that she suffered with anorexia and bulimia in her teenage and twenties.
The lady has been a great fan of Tina Turner and always dreamed to be a back up singer. Much to her surprise, Oprah Winfrey called Tina Turner, when Felicity appeared on the show, and they both sang together.
