Marcia Cross, an American actress, is also known as Marcia Anne Cross. Her mother Janet is a teacher and her father Mark Cross is a personnel manager.
She joined Julliard School in New York and received a Master’s degree in Psychology at LA’s Antioch University. She made her TV acting debut in 1984 on ‘The Edge of Night’. She soon moved from New York to Los Angeles and made appearances on some television movies such as ‘The Last Days of Frank and Jessie James’. In 1986, Marcia became a part of ABC ‘One Life to Live’.
In 1992, Marcia Cross joined the FOX drama series ‘Melrose Place’ as Dr. Kimberly Shaw. After quitting ‘Melrose Place’, she made guest appearance on ‘Seinfeld’, playing Jerry’s dermatologist girlfriend, Dr. Sitarides. She next appeared on ‘Cheers’ portraying the character of Susan Howe. She has also appeared on several comedy shows such as ‘Boy Meets World’, ‘Ally McBeal’, ‘Spin City’, ‘Its Garry Shandling’s Show’ and ‘King of Queens’ etc.
Her dramatic appearances are on ‘CSI’, ‘Profiler’, ‘Everwood’ and ‘Touched by an Angel’ etc. It was 2004 when Marcia Cross got the role of Bree Van de Kamp on ‘Desperate Housewives’, an ABC dramedy.
She has also performed in La Ronde at the William Theatre Festival; in ‘Twelfth Night, or What You Will’; and also in ‘The Two Gentlemen of Verona’ at the Old Globe in San Diego. Marcia Cross got married to Tom Mahoney on June 24, 2006 at the Church of Our Savior Episcopal Parish in San Gabriel, California. She gave birth to fraternal twin daughters, Eden and Savannah on February 20, 2007.
Very recently, it was announced that Cross would be the face of the Mott’s apple sauce.
