Ricardo Antonio Chavira is an American actor. He took birth in San Antonio, Texas and grew up at the same place. Ricardo joined Robert E. Lee High School (San Antonio, Texas), graduating from the same. He next joined Performing Arts School and then enrolled to the University of the Incarnate Word. He’s a’00 UC, San Diego Alumnus. In 2000, Ricardo received his Master of Fine Arts in acting from the UC San Diego’s professional Actor Training programme. Soon, he rushed to Los Angeles and began his acting journey. He’s the son of Juan Antonio Chavira, Bexar County’s Judge. His mother died of breast and ovarian cancer, when she was 43, and it led him to become a supporter of breast cancer research.
One of his very remarkable film roles is on ‘The Alamo’. Before joining the cast of ‘Desperate Housewives, Ricardo appeared on ‘The Grubbs’; guest appeared on ‘Six Feet Under’, ‘The Division’, ‘Joan of Arcadia’, ‘Kingpin’, ‘Monk’, ‘24′ and ‘JAG’. His next appearances were on ‘NYPD Blue’ and ‘Philly’ and ‘City of Angels’ and ABC’s ‘The George Lopez Show’.
At the Odyssey Theatre in Los Angeles, Ricardo Antonio Chavira appeared in a production of ‘Tracers’ and also starred in a co-production of ‘Living Out’. He joined ‘Desperate Housewives’ in 2004 as Gabrielle Solis’ husband Carlos.
The man served as the National Team Captain for the ‘Race for the Cure’ in Washington DC and is also San Antonio’s honorary spokesman for the charity ‘Susan G. Komen for the Cure’. He’s also the 2005 co-spokesperson for the Lee National Denim Day breast cancer fundraiser.
Ricardo Antonio Chavira has two children, Tomas Antonio Chavira, a son and a daughter named Belen Elysabeth Chavira born in 2003 and 2008 respectively. Both children are with his partner Marcea Dietzel. They have been in relationship for several years and decided to marry on September 22, 2007.
